Take Wing Photos on a Wire project
Here are the steps I took in creating my Photos on a Wire project.
Cut 12x12 sheets of chip board and stack to create an 1/8 sheet of 12x12 book board. This will be the back of the frame. Alternate grain direction when stacking your sheets to create book board. Glue sheets together using Club Scrap's BookBinding Glue. Cut 4 each of 1x12" and 1x10" book board strips which will create the frame.
Add 4 brads through each of the holes from the back to the front of the frame.
These will act as a point of attachment for the wire hangers.
Measure out two 24" lengths of 21 gauge silver wire.
Paint the frame with black acrylic paint.
Pierce 4 more holes, this time in frame area of your project, at 1/2" from the side of the frame and parallel to the brad holes. Thread the wires ends in from the front to the back making sure that the wires are centered on the front.
At the top of the back side of the project, twist the ends of the wire around the brads and then to form the hanger. The bottom wire ends are twisted around the brads to secure and then trimmed off.
This will create a stronger frame and also sandwich the wires between the layers of the frame.
Paint the remaining book board with black acrylic paint.
Attach Take Wing white print cut at 9.75x9.75" under the wires.
Attach tiny wooden clothespins to the wires for photos.
Using scraps from your Take Wing project create quilled embellishments.
