Club Scrap Cantina Blog Hop

Welcome to the July Club Scrap Blog Hop featuring this month's kit, Cantina. If you arrived here from Inkstains with Roni, then you are in the right place. If not, check out Karen's post over at Club Scrap for a complete list of participating blogs.

After seeing this Origami Video on Youtube (disclaimer: it is in a foreign language), I had to give it a try using the fabulous papers and stamps in this month's Cantina Collection!

Choose Two Cantina White, and one each of Hot Pink, Orange and Aqua Print.

Score each paper at 4 and 8". Flip the papers vertically and score again at 6".

Continue to follow the rest of the steps in the video to create the origami shapes.

Take the shapes for a test drive to make sure they fit together.

Create a patterned paper using coordinating ink colors (Distress from Ranger in Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Ripe Persimmon) and the 50s Kitchen Art Nouveau UM image.

Use a corner rounder and punch all corners of all the origami shapes. Tip: this makes it easier to insert them all back together for reassembling the final project.

Trim two pieces of the stamped pattern paper to fit the right and left exposed tabs. Corner round these pieces before attaching to the tabs.

Unfold all the shapes and find the small triangular areas to be stamped.

Mask off the areas to be stamped. Choose a coordinating color of ink and add the Cantina Collection UM flower image to all the exposed triangular areas.

Note: on the White origami use three colors of ink to create a multi colored flower.

Reassemble the pieces.

Create labeled tabs using a die cut scallop circle.

Enjoy the finished Origami Organizer!

It even folds up flat, what a bonus!

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop.
