How I Distress!

Tim Holtz is having a fun little challenge on his blog on how we use our Distress inks.   So here is my entry.

I used mostly Vintage Photo Distress ink.
The stamped images are using Adirondack Black Archival ink.
Club Scrap Poetic Harlequin Stamp
Club Scrap Casual Centennial quote stamp
Birdhouse is my own design using corrugated cardboard from an Apple computer packaging box
Alterations flower die cuts Sizzix (a RAK from my dear friend Pat from CS)
Buttons (Giveaway from Colorful Creations Blog)
Stickles (Giveaway from CK friend Amanda's Blog)
Dragonfly idea from a CK friend's post.  Wings are from a piece of Alterations die cut flower cut,  paper is from Club Scrap Henna collection
All papers are Club Scrap.  Most are from the Castaway collection.
I used Club Scrap Book Binding Glue to assemble the birdhouse (awesome stuff)!!!

I love gardening!

Another of my favorite things to do is gardening!   I spent the last few days outside working on planting my annuals.   I also did a few updates to some beds.   My hubby Greg and son Jay removed a large white pine from one bed by the street.  These trees grow so large over time that we knew it was not going to be a good thing if it remained there.  So with a big empty spot that needed filling,  I got 3 large daylilies from my sister in law yesterday that fit in nicely.
So what are your favorite annuals to plant?

In my garden,  it is a close tie between Wave Petunias and Impatiens

Workshop success!

What a fun time I had doing my very first workshop!   The girls were really fun and liked learning the Stitch Bound Journal project.  It was a nice big room at the Taunton Art Association.  There were 5 in attendance and with everyone working at a different pace it was nice to have this size group so that I was able to give each of them some individual attention.  I may not have been able to do that with a larger group.

So thanks to you all who came to my first workshop and made it a very enjoyable and memorable experience!   Looking forward to being able to teach an Assembly Line Scrapbooking class here later this summer!

Very First workshop!

Tomorrow is my first workshop as a Club Scrap® Crafter Rep and I am a little nervous and excited.  It will be a wonderful experience to finally get to teach a class.   I am really hoping that it will be successful and my teaching style will be accepted by my attendees.   It is so hard to tell how it will go but I am thinking positively.  The project I will teach is a Stitch Bound Journal,  much like the one in my previous post.   The only difference will be the colors.   Really hoping someone will love it and maybe they will attend my scrapping for busy people class coming up later in the summer too!  Wish me luck!

Here are some more views of the signatures (pages)  and the tie closure.

And this one shows the cool spine and exposed binding stitches!

All products are Club Scrap!

One Stroke Painted Birdhouses

For Mother's Day I gave a dime store birdhouse a little update.  I gave it to my Mom today and she loved it.  I also needed to replace one of my houses.  Note: *  never ever make a birdhouse from particle board or it will disintegrate if you put it outdoors.  I bought a hand painted birdhouse a few years back at a craft fair and recently hung it outdoors.   Turns out if probably was not intended to be outdoors and is falling apart.

Here are the 2 houses.  The first is my moms and the second is mine!

Happy Mother's Day!

Had a nice peaceful morning.  My daughter Alicia,  made me a sweet card and my youngest Shannon drew me a lovely pencil drawing.  My son Jason gave me a hug and a Happy Mother's Day Mom!   I really have so much,  it is the nice peaceful family atmosphere that is the greatest gift of all.  My hubby Greg,  is always there for me and we do lots of little things for each other during the year.  So gifts on mothers and fathers day are not required.  As long as we acknowledge each other every day,  that is more important.  Love this family of mine!

We also get a special treat this evening,  we are sharing a lobster dinner with the family.  I will see my Mom on Wednesday to wish her a Happy Mom's Day in person.

Hope everyone is having a special day!
